passion
"Passion has little to do with euphoria and everything to do with patience. It is not about feeling good. It is about endurance. Like patience, passion comes from the same Latin root: pati. It does not mean to flow with exuberance. It means to suffer."

That quote really made me think... as it's so true.
If you're truly passionate about something - it takes patience and a lot of suffering. Though, when I hear the word passion, that "lustful euphoria" is what comes to mind.
From the latin - passio - which means to suffer. Used to describe the Last Supper of Christ. It is the first definition in any credible dictionary.
Makes you wonder...
The quote is good, the attribution to Kaplan unnecessary here.
There is no such book as "The Courage to Withstand".
Half of the fun in HOL is figuring out which parts are real ( e.g. Kevin Carter ) and which are not.
The really great book is in part a satire on our pseudo-objective internet/blog/reflection culture. Fall for it or carry it on ;-).
I hope you all real, and the
the credit goes to Mark.
